When refueling aircraft, the prevention of static electricity is of paramount importance. The process of grounding or bonding the equipment to be used will help to control the static electricity and allow safer transfer of fuel to the aircraft. The use of a Static Discharge Reel on the refueling vehicle or platform will help to assure that bonding takes place and fuel is safely transferred.
The reels feature totally enclosed, gasketed spring rewind mechanisms for the ultimate in protection from the elements. When paying out cable, a sturdy latching system holds the cable at the desired length. A gentle tug on the cable releases the latch, and the cable retracts back onto the reel.
Reel construction is of galvanized/zinc plated steel with a durable baked enamel finish. All bearing surfaces are permanently lubricated. Stainless steel springs are available when specified. Various combinations of cable, end fittings and color are available to custom tailor a reel to your specific requirements. Several cable, cable clamp, and plug options are available.
All reel components are treated for corrosion resistance. The exterior can be painted green, red, or yellow to your specifications. Baked enamel green is standard. All assemblies are compliant IAW Military Specification A-A-50696.
The Static Discharge Reels are manufactured by Delmaco Manufacturing, Incorporated, a separate, but affiliated company.

Gas Pump Reels
Throughout the world, gasoline/diesel pumps, as shown here, require one of our products. John Evans' manufactures a spring-powered retracting device, mounted internally or externally at the pump and attached to the hose via a synthetic cord, pulls the "slack" in the refueling hose back to the pump unit to provide safety and prevent damage from vehicles.
